三島焼 Mishima Pitcher No. 5 by Monika Dabrowska-Picewicz
Hand built sculptural stoneware pitcher by ceramic Artist, Monika Dabrowska-Picewicz from 三島焼 Mishima Collection.
The traditional Japanese 三島焼 Mishima originally refers to pottery characterised by being roughly made and often uneven, thus epitomising the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi. Dabrowska-Picewicz transponded it into modern ceramics language by inlaying slip, underglaze with contrasting clay, creating beautiful nature’s inspired patterns on the surface.
"What I love about ceramic art is that it combines all the techniques together; sculpture, painting and drawing. At the same time, it’s also possible to make a useful object” she says.
One-of-the-kind with Artist’s signature embossed on the bottom. Exclusively created for FREDERIKA GALERIE.
Includes the Certificate of Authenticity.
Material: ceramic stoneware.
