Studio Visit: Mikolaj Moskal

Featured Frederika Galerie Artist Mikolaj Moskal, born 1985 in Cracow, is specialised in organic abstraction painted on paper with tempera and papercut collages. His works seem to synthesize real objects by portraiting their aura into closed abstract compositions.

Synthesis of Objects

“In my artistic work I lively experience shapes, colors and images as a synthesis of objects. I feel influenced by those factors and continue developing the materiality of things, its duality, symbols, emotional charge and temperature”. - says the Artist.

“I want my works to trigger feelings and emotions, not just tell about. Trusting my intuition, which I always find preceding my mind, that sharp moment before the final recognition are crucial to me”

Artist’s Studio in the historical city of Cracow

Located in Kazimierz, The Old Jewish Quarter in Cracow, Artist’s atelier is filled with sheets of paper, recent works and proofs pinned on walls, mineral paint scents and unique tools like favourite antique tailor scissors used for papercut collages.
